You are invited to the 9th annual Temple Arts Festival (TAF), an exhibition and sale of original fine art, on Saturday, April 20th from 5 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, April 21st from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Temple, 5015 Harding Road, Nashville, TN (next door to Belle Meade Plantation).
If you are looking for the perfect Mothers Day, graduation, wedding or anniversary gift, or want to treat yourself to a new piece of jewelry or fine art, plan now to attend this gallery-style show.
You will find beautiful and extraordinary original works of glass, ceramic, wood and metal sculpture, paintings, photography, fiber and jewelry made by over 50 master artists and craftsmen from 22 states. Values for art and jewelry range from $100 to over $8000. Highlighted artists this year include Nashville's own Hunter Armistead, John Guider, Myles Maillie, and Rusty Wolfe as well as such widely recognized talents as Thomas Hoadley and Duncan McClellan.
You can be among the first to browse the exhibit on Saturday and enjoy drinks, hors d'oeuvres and dinner at a pre-opening party by buying advance purchase certificates in the following increments:
* 5 p.m. admission - A $500 per person Connoisseur certificate is available
* 5:30 p.m. admission - A $300 per person Collector certificate is available
* 6:30 p.m. admission - A $150 per person Patron certificate is available
All certificates include the dinner party and may be applied wholly to purchases; a percentage of the purchase price may qualify as a charitable contribution on your tax return. A gallery opening late party with elegant desserts and drinks begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday for $15 per person; admission on Sunday is free. No reservations are required for either of these options.
New this year on Sunday at midday will be a K-4 children's art activity area , as well as food trucks, including The Cheeserie, Hot Spot, and Hit and Miss Ice Cream on site.
Also on Sunday, from 11 am to 4 pm: Art workshop opportunities for K-4 and for tweens, teens and adults.
There will be a Myles Maillie interactive art project beginning at 11 AM on Sunday, April 21st. Myles will design and supervise the project to be painted on site by volunteers-- pre-teens, teens and adults. No requirements; just bring your enthusiasm.
As a juried show, prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, 1st Place in 2-Dimensional Art and 1st Place in 3-Dimensional Art. The prizes will be named in memory of world reknown ceramist Sylvia Hyman to honor her long time participation and commitment to the show. This year's judge will be Jochen Wierich, Curator of Art for Cheekwood Museum of Art.
